The aim of this paper was to examine the application of the local stress method in the fatigue life assessment of rib-to-crossbeam joints of orthotropic decks. The hot spot stress approach and the effective notch stress approach were used. The fatigue life predicted by the local and nominal stress method was compared with the experimental results.Downloads
