The article describes a mathematical model and the results of the probabilistic experimental and theoretical research of the degree of wear of the inside surface of bearing rings and wheelset neck of the VL series electric locomotives. A new technology of system tightness restoration has been proposed by means of electrolytic precipitation of zinc by impulse/reverse currents. The parameters of the current and the result of preliminary laboratory strength tests of the pressed connections have been provided.
