The article describes results of experimental research of the coupling strength of rail rolling stock with a guaranteed tightness of the journal-box unit, the internal surface of whose internal rings of bearings was restored by electrolytic zinc-plating on the impulse-reverse currents. The comparative analysis has been conducted of structure of the restored layer and the strength of immobile couplings, whose rings were restored with the use of the proposed technology with those restored on a direct current and those not restored at all.
